GENERAL EMPLOYMENT INFORMATION

The provisions of the job bulletin(s) below do not constitute an implied or expressed contract, and any provisions contained in the bulletin(s) may be modified or revoked at any time. The requirements stated represent only the minimum required to file an application. Meeting the listed requirements does not guarantee a candidate will qualify.

Equal Opportunity
San Diego Superior Court is an equal opportunity employer. The court provides equal opportunity at all times and does not discriminate in violation of applicable law.

Online Application Submission
Applications must be submitted online. Please refer to the job bulletin for specific instructions if any certificates, transcripts, and/or forms are required. To receive full consideration, applications and requested material should be submitted promptly. False statements or omission of facts regarding background or employment history may result in either disqualification or dismissal.

Application Filing Deadline
Human Resources must receive all required application materials by the filing deadline date and time stated on the job bulletin, unless otherwise noted.

Email Notification
Human Resources will notify all applicants via email regarding their status in the recruitment process, regardless of notification preference indicated on the job application. Please monitor your inbox accordingly as notifications may be delivered to your junk mail folder.

Applicants with Disabilities
Reasonable accommodations will be made so applicants with disabilities may participate in the recruitment process. Please advise Human Resources of special needs in advance.

Updates to Applicant Contact Information
Applicants are responsible for notifying Human Resources in writing of any changes in contact information (name, address, phone number, e-mail address). Updates may be emailed to CourtHR@sdcourt.ca.gov.

Eligible Lists
Candidates who successfully complete the examination process will have their names placed on an eligible list. Placement on a list does not guarantee placement in a position. As vacancies approved to be filled occur, a list of qualified candidates is forwarded to department hiring managers for selection.

Background Investigation
Prospective hires shall be subject to a criminal history background check and fingerprint scan. Convictions, depending upon the type, number and recency, may be disqualifying. Click here for the Background Investigation Form. Please do not submit this form unless specifically instructed by Human Resources.

Medical Examination
For certain job classifications, employment is contingent upon successfully passing a job-related, pre-employment medical examination, which includes drug and alcohol testing.

Employment Eligibility
Federal law requires that all persons selected for employment must complete the Employment Eligibility Verification Form (I-9), verifying their legal right to work in the United States.
