Job Responsibilities
With our Agency's mission to support the recovery of people with mental illnesses, we provide a complete array of medical and support services for children, adults, and families throughout South Carolina.
This position is located at the Department of Mental Health, Waccamaw Center for Mental Health, 501 Nelson Blvd, Kingstree, SC 29556.
You will under direct supervision, perform a variety of administrative duties involved in the daily operations of the Kingstree business office of Waccamaw Center for Mental Health. You will apply written or unwritten policies to perform various tasks that have a significant impact on the daily operations of the Kingstree Office.
You will function as the primary office receptionist, greeting and directing consumers and visitors. You will notify clinicians and physicians of client arrival, collect and verify pertinent client information, insurance, update the appropriate system, answer and direct calls, and assist in scheduling and rescheduling of appointments using the EMR.
You will assist with meeting the clients and their families to complete intake paperwork. You will enter information into CIS and EMR ensuring that all information is added accurately, and all required fields are completed. You will scan and import documentation into the EMR.
You will maintain documentation of charts and other records in accordance with State, Federal, SCDMH, WCMH, Quality Assurance, HIPPA, Corporate Compliance, and CARF Standards.
You will act as backup to other areas of the business office including the front desk, cashier, medical records, scheduling, and intakes.
You will perform other related duties as required by Office Manager and/or Clinic Director.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
STATE REQUIREMENTS: A high School Diploma or GED.
AGENCY REQUIREMENTS: A high School Diploma and two years of clerical experience or associates degree in secretarial science or other related field, or 3 years clerical experience.Preferred Qualifications
