| Employee performs in a training capacity for approximately one year learning the techniques of social casework in the area of Child Protective Services. Work is characterized by cases involving abuse/neglect/exploitation of children. The nature of the situations requires judgment to deal with problems that are potentially dangerous to the client and the worker. Work requires the use of personal automobile for extensive travel. May be subject to being on-call during non-business hours and must be available or be accessible by telephone. Requires extensive training to be fully accountable for a high volume of demanding and time-restricted cases. How to Apply: APPLY ONLINE. This job requires a written examination (W). (See exemptions below.) Exams are given in several locations and no appointment is necessary. You must apply prior to testing. Public access computers are located at many libraries and Workforce WV offices. | IMPORTANT TEST EXEMPTION NOTE: Applicants with a Bachelor's (BSW) or Master's (MSW) in Social Work from a Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) accredited social work program, or a current (non-Temporary) WV Social Work License are not required to take the written examination. These applicants receive automatic preference in eligible referral. Applicants with Temporary License or a "Temporary License Eligibility Approval Stamp" must test.
