Job Title: Accounting Technician 2 (W)

Employee performs entry level accounting support duties. The incumbent is responsible for performing routine posting and adjusting to the general ledger, processing claims and invoices, and reviewing transactions for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with state and federal laws and regulations.

Hiring Process: This job requires a written examination (W). Exams are given in several locations and no appointment is necessary. We encourage you to apply online. If you apply online, you do not have to take a copy of the application to the test center. DO NOT APPLY UNLESS YOU CAN TEST WITHIN 30 DAYS. Positive identification is required. There is a 90 day re-test waiting period. Caution: Any time you re-take the same test your new score, whether higher or lower, will automatically replace any previous test scores.

The same written exam is used for Accounting Technician 1, 2 and 3. You only have to take the test once. If you previously (within the past 6 months) took this test, you do not have to re-test. However, if you choose not to re-test, you should contact us so that your test score can be applied to the other title.

 MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Your application will not be accepted if you do not meet stated minimum requirements.

Training:
Graduation from a standard four-year high school or the equivalent.

Experience:
Two years of full time or equivalent part time paid bookkeeping, accounting or related experience.
Substitution:
Successful completion of college-level accounting courses from a regionally accredited college or university may be substituted at the rate of three semester hours equals six months experience; Semester hours must be verified by transcript. OR Successful completion of related business school or vocational training may be substituted for the experience through an established formula.
