We employ over 375 employees in more than 70 different job classifications to perform a wide range of non-judicial functions including: accounting, office and courtroom support, technology and system support, legal research, family mediation services, and administrative management.

Positions are available at various Court locations throughout Ventura County including the Hall of Justice (Ventura), the East County Courthouse (Simi Valley), the Juvenile Courthouse (Oxnard), the Self Help Center (Oxnard), and the Hill Road Location (Ventura).

The Superior Court of California, County of Ventura requires a completed application and, when required, a Supplemental Questionnaire.  Applications must be completed in sufficient detail and clarity to permit a comprehensive review and evaluation.  Incomplete application materials, false statements, omission of a material fact or partial information, will result in disqualification. 

Carefully complete your application and any required supplemental questionnaire and submit by the final filing date as indicated on the job announcement. It is important that your application show all the relevant experience necessary you possess in the Work Experience area. 

List your most recent job, then list separately the title held for each job and any volunteer experience. Do not combine titles/jobs. Please list each job title or promotion separately.

Experience is evaluated on the basis of a verifiable 40-hour workweek.

If you attach a resume, it will not be used in lieu of a fully completed application. Response to supplemental questionnaire can't be used in lieu of a fully completed application, either.

In addition, please be aware that we perform a Pre-Employment Background Check Process in connection with your application for employment with the Superior Court of California, County of Ventura. This process will include fingerprint check and may include procurement of a consumer credit report on you, as well as investigative reports that may include information as to your character, general reputation, personal characteristics, etc.

Some represented classification may be subject to an “agency shop” arrangement, which mandates regular employees under these classification to either join the local union of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) and pay dues as a member, or pay either a “service fee” to the local union or direct that an amount equivalent to the “service fee” be distributed to a qualified charitable organization.
