Job Title: Temporary - Marshall Center - Teen Enrichment
Closing Date/Time: Continuous
Salary: $8.66 - $11.51 Hourly
Job Type: 1040 Worker
Location: MARSHALL CENTER, 1009 E MCLOUGHLIN BLVD, Vancouver, Washington
 

 
 
The individual in this part-time position will work a maximum of 1040 total hours in a rolling 12 month period; schedules may vary weekly.

 Functions:

The candidate for this position must be able to:

  • Perform all duties in accordance with the City of Vancouver’s Operating Principles;
  • Work and act as a team player in all interactions;
  • Provide basic customer service skills and effectively respond to basic public inquiries and complaints in a courteous manner;
  • Exercise judgment and maintain a high degree of confidentiality;
  • Utilize proper safety precautions in all aspects of this job;
  • Follow policies and procedures of Parks and Recreation programs/area of assignment;
  • Read and write at a level necessary for successful job performance;
  • Supervise and assist members;
  • Multi-task in a fast paced environment;
  • Ensure a safe environment; and respond quickly and effectively in an emergency situation;
  • Utilize skills to promote good working relations;
  • Keep accurate attendance records and any other required data; Maintain positive, professional relationships between staff, and customers at all times;
  • Provide a high level of customer service at all times;
  • Project and maintain a positive image on behalf of the City of Vancouver with those contacted in the course of work;
  • Perform other duties required to accomplish the objectives of the position.

 Qualifications:

The candidate in this position shall have the following qualifications:

  • Experience, desire and patience working with teens is preferred;
  • Basic knowledge of and experience in recreational and/or educational activities;
  • Must be able to work nights and weekends;
  • Experience working in a recreation program is desired;
  • Safety practices.
