Description Benefits Supplemental Questions

The individual in this part-time position will work a maximum of 1040 total hours in a rolling 12 month period; schedules may vary weekly. Salary depends on job function and experience. Current positions available in aquatics: Water Safety Instructors Water Safety Instructor Aids Water Exercise Instructors (Aqua Trim) - previous experience as an instructor Lifeguards Monday- Friday 5:00am - 10:00am, 10:00am - 3:00pm, 3:00pm-Close Saturday- various shifts-Open-Close Sunday- 10:00am-6:00pm Shifts available 10-19 hours per week **If you are ready to start immediately as an Ellis Lifeguard in the opening hours at any of our pools and work early day time hours please fill out the application and call Cory Wynn at 360-487-7012.
Functions:
Perform as a lifeguard to assure safety of pool users; Assist in providing a safe program and environment for participants and staff; take appropriate action in emergency situations; Utilize proper safety precautions in all aspects of this job; Communicate and work well with all program participants, other city staff, and any individuals contacted in the course of work. Respond to basic public inquires regarding program guidelines; Maintain attendance records and other reporting / documentation required for assigned area; Perform routine cleaning and maintenance duties in pool and locker areas; Understand and implement Parks and Recreation Department policies and procedures; Perform other duties as required through assigned program.
Qualifications:
Ellis & Associates Pool Lifeguard Certification required. (Be paid while you train!) Written and verbal communication skills; Functions / activities of assigned area; Lifeguarding techniques and methods of rescue; Routine recordkeeping procedures; Safety rules / regulations;
