The individual in this part-time position will work a maximum of 1040 total hours in a rolling 12 month period; schedules may vary weekly.
Salary depends on job function and experience.
Current positions available in aquatics: Water Safety Instructors Water Safety Instructor Aids Water Exercise Instructors (Aqua Trim) - previous experience as an instructor Lifeguards
Monday- Friday 5:00am - 10:00am, 10:00am - 3:00pm, 3:00pm-Close Saturday- various shifts-Open-Close Sunday- 10:00am-6:00pm Shifts available 10-19 hours per week

Functions:
Perform as a lifeguard to assure safety of pool users;
Assist in providing a safe program and environment for participants and staff; take appropriate action in emergency situations;
Utilize proper safety precautions in all aspects of this job;
Communicate and work well with all program participants, other city staff, and any individuals contacted in the course of work.
Respond to basic public inquires regarding program guidelines;
Maintain attendance records and other reporting / documentation required for assigned area;
Perform routine cleaning and maintenance duties in pool and locker areas;
Understand and implement Parks and Recreation Department policies and procedures;
Perform other duties as required through assigned program.
Qualifications:
Ellis & Associates Pool Lifeguard Certification required. (Be paid while you train!)
Written and verbal communication skills;
Functions / activities of assigned area;
Lifeguarding techniques and methods of rescue;
Routine recordkeeping procedures;
Safety rules / regulations;
