| Supervision for the implementation of Nursing Services in accordance with Division policies, objectives, and procedures. Supervision of staff to maintain quality services and a level of professionalism that promotes and maintains the health of clients, families and the community. |

Distinguishing Features of Work:
|
| An employee in this class is responsible for planning, implementing and evaluating the public health nursing services provided by an assigned group of Nursing Division staff. Responsibilities include, directing staff and implementation of Division programs, assigning and coordinating work schedules, coordinating Nursing Division programs with community services, i.e., social services, nursing homes, hospitals and medical professionals to facilitate program planning, implementation, outreach, referral and follow-up. Assists the Division Program Director in planning and evaluating Nursing Service programs. The work is performed independently in accordance with established department policy and public health nursing practices under the general direction of the Public Health Nursing Administrator. |

Minimum qualifications (pass/fail) Master's Degree in Public Health or Public Health Nursing and current licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Public Health Nurse in Minnesota, plus one (1) year full-time paid professional staff experience in a public health agency; OR, Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, current licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Public Health Nurse in Minnesota, plus three (3) years full-time paid professional staff experience in a public health agency. Experience & Training 100% Points will be awarded for job-related experience and education exceeding the minimum qualifications. Only experience occurring during the ten most recent years will be used in determining this rating. Experience beyond ten years may be included on the application for purposes of meeting minimum qualifications or informing the hiring authority of your complete employment history.
