|
Positions in this job classification are responsible for performing routine tasks associated with the supervision and care of adolescents in a residential treatment center, such as directing and monitoring activities and safeguarding the treatment center. This is an on-call position. Individuals will supervise up to fifteen adolescents which have been placed in a residential treatment setting by the Courts. The Lakeside Center is located in Maryland Heights. Fringe benefits are applicable to full-time positions only. The starting salary will be $12.68 per hour, the minimum figure of the salary range. |

Examples of Duties:
|
- Supervise and oversee the daily activities of adolescents to ensure physical needs such as hygiene, proper diet and medication, and education are met.
- Monitor, control and document behavior patterns and changes in behavior.
- Ensure the safety and security of individuals housed in a residential treatment center.
- Perform such additional duties, with the required abilities and under the indicated working conditions and environment, as may properly be required of a position in this job class.
EQUIPMENT USED: (Illustrative examples) Vehicle, telephone, flashlight, key clock, copier and computer. WORKING CONDITIONS: Extensive walking, lifting up to 30 pounds, handling aggressive behavior both verbal and physical, handling crisis and driving.

Minimum Qualifications:
|
| Associate's Degree in sociology, human services, criminal justice, or a related field, or any equivalent combination of training and experience. |

| SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Possession of a valid driver's license. A person who is fully functioning in this position will possess certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid from the American Red Cross and Medication Certification. Pay Range: 25 SELECTION AND APPOINTMENT: A selection committee will evaluate the qualifications of each applicant which will include recency and appropriateness of the applicant's education and experience, results of employment references investigated and any other appropriate information available. The selection committee will admit to the interview only those persons who possess the most job related qualifications and may establish admittance criteria beyond the minimum qualifications stated above. The interview will comprise 100% of the applicant's earned grade. A candidate must earn a qualifying grade of 70 or more on the interview to be eligible for appointment. The five top ranking candidates, based on the final grade, will be certified to the Director of the Department who will make the final decision. All applicants conditionally offered a permanent part time, full time, term or on-call position will be required to submit to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment. Screening will be performed by a reputable clinical laboratory. The cost of screening will be borne by the County. |
