This position is a Volunteer Fire and/or Rescue position that requires NO Experience. Training will be provided for you after you have successfully been accepted into membership. You will be contacted by a representative form the Stafford County Fire and Rescue Department and then a representative from the respective volunteer station. After this, you will be scheduled a time to visit the Stafford County Public Safety Center to complete the necessary paperwork and to get your fingerprints to obtain a criminal history. PERSONNEL UNDER THE AGE OF EIGHTEEN (18) CANNOT BE FINGERPRINTED. Applicants under the age of eighteen (18) must be accompanied by a parent or guardian to complete paperwork.
There are both Operational and Administrative opportunities.
Examples of Duties:
Responding to emergency calls; suppressing fires; providing basic and advanced life support emergency medical services; handling hazardous materials; preparing and maintaining detailed records.
Responds to alarms and assists in the suppression of fires and in hazardous materials handling;
Responds to emergency medical calls, drives equipment and administers first aid;
Participates in training of volunteer fire and rescue;
Conducts pre-fire planning activities and fire prevention inspections;
Participates in community awareness and public education programs concerning fire prevention and public education;
Maintains tools, apparatus and equipment in ready condition;
Performs a variety of administrative tasks as assigned such as: data entry, preparing activity reports and relaying
information to volunteer companies;
Attends training sessions to maintain current skills and to acquire new skills;
Performs safety inspections and prepares pre-plan surveys;
Inventories, orders and stocks supplies on ambulances;
Performs related tasks as required.

Candidate selected will be required to successfully complete a criminal history and fingerprint check if eighteen (18) years of age or older.
