This seasonal position conducts indoor and/or outdoor activities, provides direction to Recreation Leader 1 staff and ensures activities are safe, proper and appropriate.  This position also is responsible for helping to maintain equipment and grounds.

 

 Representative Duties:

Senior Program

Mon.-Fri. 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Assist in the organization and implementation of educational, recreational and nutritional programs for the City’s senior population at the SeaTac Community Center.

 

Teen Program

Mon.-Fri. 1:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.

Conduct indoor and outdoor recreational activities for middle and high school students at  the Valley Ridge Park  Community Center.  Plan and coordinate recreational activities. Lead groups in arts & crafts, sports, special events and educational activities.   Ensure activities are safe, proper and    appropriate. Supervise staff as assigned. Maintain program equipment and ensure facility and grounds are kept clean and litter free.  Transport program participants in a fifteen (15) passenger van.

 

Youth Program

Before School Mon.—Fri. 6:00 a.m.- 9:15 a.m.

Greet children and parents.  Supervise activities before school for youth ages 5-12 at Bow Lake Elementary School.  Ensure program equipment stays in good working order and facility and grounds are kept clean and litter free.  Transport program participants in a fifteen (15) passenger van to school.


After School

Mon.—Fri.3:00 p.m.—6:00 p.m.

(1:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. on early dismissal Wed. of the Highline School district)

 

Conduct indoor and outdoor recreational activities for youth ages 5- 12 at the SeaTac Park Community Center. Plan and coordinate recreational activities. Lead groups in arts & crafts, sports, special events and educational activities. Ensure activities are safe, proper and appropriate. Maintain program equipment and ensure facility and grounds are kept clean and litter free.  Supervise staff as assigned and transport program participants in a fifteen (15) passenger van (Recreation Leader 2).

 

 Required Education and Experience:
  • Minimum of eighteen (18) years of age. 
  • Six (6) months related work experience. Community recreation and/or education program experience preferred.  
  • A combination of experience and training that provides the candidate with the knowledge and skills to perform the job will be considered.

 Licenses and Other Requirements:
  • Valid adult and child CPR and First Aid Certificates preferred.  Ability to obtain within thirty (30) days of hire required.
