The Assistant Procurement Contracting Officer is an entry level class who works with project managers to develop procurement strategies and documents and negotiate the least complex fixed-price and cost reimbursement contracts for materials and services. Minimum requirement for the Assistant Procurement Contracting position is as follows:

1. A bachelor’s degree from an accredited U.S. college or university, or certified foreign studies equivalency in business administration or closely related field; AND one (1) year of progressively responsible experience in developing purchasing documents and/or contracting at the journey level in a highly regulated industry or public agency; OR,
2. One (1) year of experience as a Senior Procurement Specialist with the County of San Diego; OR,
3. Five (5) years of experience as a Procurement Specialist with the County of San Diego, or equivalent of five (5) years of progressively responsible buying experience and purchasing a variety of commodities and services in a highly regulated industry or public agency.
