Psychiatrist $95.45 hourly Diplomate in Psychiatry - $105.00 hourly Diplomate in relevant sub-specialty - $109.77 hourly May be compensated additional pay for shift work assignments The County of San Diego's Health and Human Services Agency is accepting applications for both full-time and part-time temporary Psychiatrist. Incumbents work at county mental health facilities, public health clinics, emergency rooms, schools, youth detention facilities and they may provide forensic services to the courts. Under general direction, incumbents exercise independent medical judgment in the diagnosis and treatment of adults at a county mental health facility, clinic, or emergency room; act as a lead-worker providing technical guidance and leadership to subordinate Psychiatrists and staff; and act in the absence of the Supervising Psychiatrist. The Temporary Expert Professional – M.D., D.O. positions are exempted from the classified service and work for the County of San Diego as physicians for a specified period of time in other than a regular capacity. Note: Persons serving in positions in the Unclassified Service do not accrue tenure and serve at the pleasure of the appointing authority. Malpractice Insurance: Pursuant to the provisions of California law, the County of San Diego, through its self-insurance program, provides coverage for its employees regarding malpractice and liability within the scope of employment. What you need to qualify: 1) Valid license to practice medicine in the State of California. 2) Must be either eligible for, or certified as a diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, in psychiatry. 3) Graduation from a U.S. accredited medical or osteopathic school or foreign studies certification equivalent to a degree in M.D. or D.O. 4) Completion of a psychiatric residency in an ACGME approved residency program. 5) Valid Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) certificate.
