Under direction, plan, organize and supervise the daily operations of a branch office of the Child Support Services Department; perform related duties as required.

 Distinguishing Characteristics:
Positions in this class are characterized by responsibility to direct and supervise through subordinate supervisors the daily operations of a Child Support Office. It is distinguished from the next higher class of Child Support Operations Manager by the latter’s overall managerial responsibility for the operations of a branch office.

 Examples of Duties:
Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

1. Supervise through subordinate supervisors the intake, enforcement, reciprocal and legal control functions; monitor quality and quantity of work and take corrective action as necessary.

2. Supervise, assign, train, and evaluate staff; participate in selection and disciplinary actions. Serve as technical consultant to subordinate staff.

3. Participate in the development of office policies and procedures, and ensure their implementation.

4. May act for the Operations Manager during absences.

5. Receive and review complaints and problems from the public. Resolve particularly sensitive and difficult child support payment cases; advise management of potential problems.

6. Analyze statistical data to establish and attain branch collection goals; prepare and analyze correspondence and statistical and other reports.

7. Identify equipment, personnel and facility needs and make recommendations.

8. Coordinate the development of training programs.

9. Provide vacation and temporary relief as required.

 Minimum Requirements:
Education:  Associate's degree or equivalent completed college coursework in public/business administration, administration of justice, behavioral/social science, English, math or humanities.  OR  course work if a bachelor's degree or higher in the qualifying fields of study from above.
 
~AND~

Experience: 
One (1) year of experience supervising staff responsible for determining the establishment and enforcement of child support obligations  OR  Three (3) years of experience determining the establishment and enforcement of child support obligations AND One (1) year experience as a full-scope supervisor in another setting OR  One (1) year of management-level experience, supervising through multiple subordinate supervisors, over technical or professional level staff in a large office setting.
