The Office of the Treasurer-Tax Collector is recruiting for Chief of Tax Collections to assist in planning, directing, organizing and managing the Tax Collections Division.  Duties include, but are not limited to, formulates division policies and procedures; establishes and maintains operational processes, standards and performance measures and devises new and improved automated systems; coordinates and directs a staff through subordinate managers; administers and monitors performance of the division budget and contracts; establishes and administers accounting procedures; maintains knowledge and expertise in California Revenue and Taxation law and policy; and serves as a key resource to confer with and advise County and elected officials and the general public on matters pertaining to tax collection issues.    This position reports to the Assistant Treasurer-Tax Collector/Public Administrator.  For more detailed information regarding the essential duties of this position, please click here.

This position is Unclassified and serves at the discretion of the Treasurer-Tax Collector.

 Minimum Requirements:
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree in business or public administration, finance, accounting, economics or other related field.  

EXPERIENCE:
Three years of increasingly responsible experience (two of which are in a supervisory or managerial capacity) working for a California Tax Collector, Assessor or Auditor/Controller in the area of property tax administration or assessment.  Knowledge of California Revenue and Taxation Code is required.  

Note:  Two years of additional experience, as described above, may be substituted for the above education requirement.
