Welcome to the City of Rock Island's online application process! Please be advised the only way you can apply for a position within the City of Rock Island is through the online application process. We are no longer accepting paper resumes or applications. Any mailed applications or resumes will not be considered. All of our postings end and close at 5:00pm on the date listed. Also, please be aware selected candidates must meet a residency requirement, which includes a ten-mile radius on the Illinois side of the Quad Cities within one year of hire date. For Sworn Police Officers & Firefirghters under a contract, the residency requirements extends to a 15 mile radius on the Illinois side of the Quad Cities. This requirement does not apply to part-time or seasonal positions. You can now apply online by clicking on the job title you are interested in and clicking on the "Apply" link! If this is the first time you are applying using our online job application, you will need to create an account and select a Username and Password. You must have an email address before you can create an account. To view detailed instructions on how to create an account and how to complete a job application, click on the Online Employment Application Guide under Applicant Login before proceeding. After your account has been established, you can build an application by clicking on the "Build Job Application" link. This application can be saved and used to apply for more than one job opening. Please be aware that you must complete a series of steps when you apply for an open position before you have completed the process. You will receive a confirmation email when you are done. If you do not receive that email you have NOT successfully applied for the position. If you are a returning applicant you can click on Applicant login on the menu bar to log on to the system using you username and password.
Online applications are stored on a secure site. Only authorized employees and hiring authorities have access to the information submitted.
