The Center for Training and Development (CTD) Health Occupations Program is located at the Desert Vista Campus, with clinical sites located throughout the Tucson area. Its unique operational characteristics include year round open-entry/open-exit enrollment, competency based instruction, practical hands-on training in a vocational and clinical setting, intensive training schedule (24 hours per week), and comprehensive student services. We currently have positions open in the following areas: Instructor - LPN Refresher Course Pediatric Nursing Instructor Clinical Nursing Instructor These positions perform a variety of instructional duties by assisting students in classroom and clinical instruction of vocational nursing (nursing assistant and practical nurse) courses. In addition to general nursing courses, areas of emphasis are: adult long term clinical care and pediatrics. These positions may also coordinate nursing assistant training classes. |

Duties and Responsibilities:
|

Instruct students in nursing assistant and practical nursing training programs -
Instruct students in a variety of clinical settings -
Provides meaningful input for updating curriculum -
Administer and monitor a variety of tests and assessments -
Operate a variety of standard medical equipment and medical testing equipment -
Maintain records and inventory |

Job Requirements:
|
Experience, Education, and Licensing -
Baccalaureate degree with a major in nursing -
Active Arizona registered nurse license in good standing or multi-state privilege to practice in Arizona -
Two years of experience providing direct patient care as a registered nurse

Other Important Information:

The successful candidate will have knowledge of: -
Principles and practices of teaching and evaluation of adult learners -
Nursing assistant principles, practices, and procedures -
Basic principles of coordination, supervision, training, and record keeping -
Policies and procedures of the Arizona State Board of Nursing The successful candidate will have the ability to: -
Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing -
Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work -
Select and use training/instructional methods and procedures appropriate for the situation when learning or teaching new things Candidates invited to move forward to the next stage of the selection process will participate in a committee interview, a teaching demonstration, and an administrative interview. NOTE: These positions are contingent upon funding derived from revenue generated by the Center for Training and Development. These positions may require daytime, evening, or weekend schedules.
