| Work involves interaction with students, teachers and guests to insure a positive educational experience as well as delivering personal and courteous and attention to all guests visiting Nauticus.. Work hours: Operating hours from Labor Day to Memorial Day are 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday 12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m. Sunday Operating hours from Memorial Day to Labor Day are 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Sunday *Hours will vary due to special events, cruise ship activity, and holidays. |

Essential Functions:
|
| • Presents natural history maritime history and science programs to schools, groups and Scouts. • Performs interactive educational history and science programs including tabletop activities, demonstrations, workshops, overnights, outreach, marine touch tank and exhibits interpretation. • Has the ability to handle live animals and instruct individuals in the handling of live animals. • Assists with program development and volunteer training. • Interacts with guest in a friendly, helpful and positive manner. • Maintains thorough knowledge of all Maritime Center facilities, exhibits, programming and policies. • Assists guests having special problems, questions or complaints. • Resolves visitors’ problems requiring immediate attention and handles stressful situations in a calm and pleasant manner. • Ability to stand for extended periods of time, lift from ground to above shoulder, climb, bend, stoop, sit, push, pull and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity. |

Education/Experience:
|
| Requires a minimum of graduation from high school or equivalent supplemented by one year of college level course work and one year of experience in teaching, performing arts, research, or a related field. |
|
Additional Requirements:
|
| Successful candidates will have completed advanced college course work in science, education, history, or a related field; possess exceptional public speaking skills, organization skills, and be detail oriented. Candidate should feel comfortable being part of an ensemble team. |
