Multnomah County Corrections Health is currently seeking a Nursing Program Supervisor who would develop, revise, implement, oversee and evaluate the new employee orientation and ongoing staff development education program for Corrections Health staff in a 24/7 facility with various locations and staff classifications. In addition, this nursing position would manage the annual staff development in-service plan for Corrections Health, create and present the MCSO (Sheriff’s Department) annual training related to Corrections Health and participate in the Quality Improvement Program.
The person hired into this position will work with staff and management personnel to maintain and revise the orientation and education-training program related to direct care of clients incarcerated in the Multnomah County Corrections facilities and Juvenile Justice System. The ideal candidate will be a confident leader with experience in needs assessment, adult learning theory, health education & training development, giving classes and presentation and familiar with evaluations of quality improvement tools and process improvement. Additional skills and expertise include using presentation software such as PowerPoint, publisher and other computer skills for audits, surveys and presentations. This leadership position may directly supervise others &/or be in charge of committees. May also be a part of the On Call management rotation.
NOTE: Applicants must be able to pass a Sheriffs Office Background check and be flexible with a work schedule to provide training in a 24/7 operation and be available for after hours on-call coverage.

To Qualify:
Experience:Two years of responsible community health or other nursing experience.
Training: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from an accredited college or university with a major course work in community health nursing or a related field and,
License:Possession of an appropriate and valid license to practice as a registered nurse issued by the State of Oregonor, able to obtain the license within two weeks of a job offer. Preferred Experience: Knowledge of and experience developing education and training programs is highly desirable.
