Job Title: SEWER AND WATER CREWLEADER I
Salary: $17.72 - $21.36 Hourly

Advanced level in the sewer and water line servicing occupation requiring thorough knowledge of tools, equipment, and methods and procedures used in sewer and water line servicing and maintenance; under general direction, leads and assists crew in the installation, maintenance and repair of County sewer and water lines; operates equipment for the maintenance of the systems.

 Job Duties:
Sets-up work plans, assigns daily tasks to crew and provides technical assistance as necessary; leads work crew and operates dump truck, sewer jet or rodder, auxiliary equipment such as hydraulic pipe cutter, air hammer, water tapper, powered hand tools, and other related equipment; participates in the installation, maintenance and repair or replacement of water lines and sewer lines and components, such as valves, curb boxes, hydrants, manholes, flow meters; restores pavements or lawn to former condition; prepares daily records and required reports; ensures on-site safety of crew and general public.
Responds to on-site customer complaints regarding sewer and water service and related problems; performs minor maintenance on equipment.
(Performs Related Duties As Required)

 Minimum Class Requirements:
Equivalent to high school diploma; four (4) years of sewer or water systems construction and maintenance experience, including two (2) years experience in the operation and routine maintenance of the indicated equipment; valid State of Ohio Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements; must pass Department of Transportation physical exam; must have Ohio Class I Water Distribution or Ohio Class I Wastewater Collection certification.
(Other Evidences May Be Substituted)

 Training & Development:
Must sit for next available Ohio Class II Water Distribution or Class II Wastewater Collection exam following fulfillment of Ohio EPA minimum requirements and must secure certification within two (2) years of meeting minimum time qualifications.
