Are you the Master of Budgets? If so, we have a great position for you! The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC), a five time National Recreation and Parks Association Gold Medal Winner is seeking three Divisional Budget Coordinators to work collaboratively with the Budget Manager of the Prince George's County Department of Parks and Recreation. The Department serves a diverse population and manages 23,000 acres of parkland. The Divisional Budget Coordinator will assist with the stewardship of the parkland and recreation facilities through effective budget creation and management. The role of this position is to function as the Deputy Director's liaison to the Budget Manager and the Division Chiefs. |

Examples of Important Duties:
|
| The successful candidate will be charged with analyzing, preparing, and allocating an annual operating budget, assisting in year-end activities, providing financial guidance to divisional staff, and preparing and reviewing accurate monthly reports. The incumbent will coordinate the implementation of expenditure tracking procedures, train staff on accounting principals and purchasing and budgeting software, and track performance measures. Additional duties include designing and implementing administrative procedures to monitor and control major program or function expenditures including expenditure patterns; recommending reallocations of funds and other actions to stay within budget; preparing complex long and short term financial projections; perform financial analysis of major projects; and conduct training of staff in the area of budget development and financial projections. |

Minimum Qualifications:
|
1. Bachelor's degree in business administration, management, or related subject; and 2. Four years of progressively responsible administrative experience related to the needs of the division or department to which the position is assigned; or 3. An equivalent combination of education and experience. |

Supplemental Information:
|
| The desired candidate will have excellent project management skills and be able to create budget charts, tables, and spreadsheets. Must be able to handle deadlines. |
