| The Montgomery County Department of Parks is seeking an experienced Senior or Lead HVACR Mechanic. The Central Maintenance Division is looking for top talent to perform the full range of difficult skilled heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVACR) work involving considerable responsibility, complexity and variety. |

Examples of Important Duties:
|
Significant duties for the Senior Mechanic include:
1. Review and analyze building plans, blueprints, and drawings to determine the appropriate action/method and the necessary materials. 2. Inspect and troubleshoots HVACR systems. 3. Perform major repairs and installations of all types of HVACR systems. 4. Supervise other HVACR Mechanics, Trades Trainees, and Park/General Maintenance Workers. The significant duties for the Lead Mechanic includes the above mentioned duties and the following:
1. Prepare and review informal bid proposals; develop cost estimates for materials needed to complete assignments; and inspect the work of others and keep projects on schedule.
2. Inspecting Commission buildings, structures, and property for damages and coordinating preventive maintenance programs are a integral part of the duties of this position.
3. Maintain project schedules and track expenditures, materials used, task completed and file accident reports.
4. Minimize safety hazards and follow confined space procedures. |

Minimum Qualifications:
|
Senior Mechanic Qualifications
1. H.S. diploma or GED; and
2. Completion of an approved HVACR apprentice program or four years of progressively responsible experience; and
3. Two years of experience at the journey level; or
4. An equivalent combination of education and experience totaling six years.
5. Universal CFC Certification.
6. Valid Journey HVACR License issued by appropriate local jurisdiction.
7. Valid driver's license.
8. Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements may be required.
9. Pass Commission medical examination.
Lead Mechanic Qualifications:
1. H.S. Diploma or GED and
2. Completion of an approved HVACR apprentice program or four years of progressively responsible experience; and
3. Four years of experience at the journey level, including two years directing the activities of other skilled HVACR mechanics; or
4. An equivalent combination of education and experience totaling eight years.
5. Universal CFC Certification.
6. Master HVACR license issued by appropriate local jurisdiction
7. Valid Driver's License.
8. Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements may be required.
9. Pass Commission medical examination. |

Supplemental Information:
|
| This position may be filled as a Senior or a Lead HVACR Mechanic. Selected candidate must be available to work during emergencies. Working conditions include exposure to varied weather conditions, confined spaces, heights, dirt, noise, dust, fumes, and electrical shock. |
