The Communications Coordinator will develop and coordinate the marketing, promotional and communication efforts for the Centennial Student Union and Student Activities and will support the student life programming that happens within the CSU. He/she will develop and maintain the Web site, coordinate media released through the Intergrated Marketing Department, develop print materials and promotional campaigns for the CSU and it's programs, work with KMSU Radio to produce a daily Student produces radio show from the CSU, maintain the CSU Monitor and signage systems. He/she will also provide advice and support to student organizations in the development of advertising campaigns for their events and produce a series of events designed to enhance participation and usage of the CSU by students, faculty, staff and the Mankato area community.

 Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or closely related field.
  • Three (3) years full-time marketing experience including the development and implementation of marketing programs and materials and web design and implementation.

  • Excellent presentation and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in team building and collaboration with widely varying partner groups to ensure timely and effective delivery of outcomes.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in project management: developing and meeting project milestones, timelines, and goals.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in marketing campaign development: developing, implementing and evaluating strategic, goal-directed marketing campaigns; utilizing market research in the development of marketing plans.
  • Excellent written communication skills: demonstrated effectiveness in writing concise and accurate marketing copy, proposals and reports.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in publication development: producing attractive and effective print publications through the use of multimedia applications such as Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, and Microsoft PowerPoint and common utilities such as Adobe Acrobat Distiller, Adobe Image Ready, and other publishing related tools.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in professional web page design and development to meet communication goals through the use of web publishing programs and internet applications including web browsers and browser specifications.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse population of faculty, staff and students.
