- Working with faculty and staff to build a new undergraduate major option in Consumer Studies within the Department of Family Consumer Science.
- Teaching primarily undergraduate and graduate courses in Consumer Studies. Position may have some teaching responsibilities in the Family Life and Child Development area.
- Contributing to student growth and development, including advising and mentoring.
- Participating in service to department, college, university, and community.
- Continuing professional development.
- Conducting scholarly activity.

Minimum Qualifications:
|
- Earned doctorate in Consumer Studies, Family Financial Management, or closely related area. (ABD will be considered if able to document that degree will be completed by August 2012.)
- Demonstrated teaching excellence.
- Experience or involvement with the development of an active scholarly agenda, including publications in refereed journals.
- Experience with advising and mentoring students.
- Demonstrated ability to teach using technology in the classroom and online course delivery.
- Evidence of department, college, university, and/or community service.
- Commitment to continued professional development.

- Evidence of successful teaching experience at the college/university level.
- Evidence of active participation in professional association(s).
- At least one undergraduate or master's degree in Family Consumer Science.
- Evidence of collaborative ability and effective communication skills.
- A demonstrated commitment to working with a diverse student, faculty, and staff population.
