Job Title: Construction Management, Assistant/Associate Professor (PRF #10137)

  • Tenure Track position to teach upper and lower division undergraduate construction management courses in two or more of these areas: Construction Graphics, Documents, Materials & Methods, Safety, Estimating, Planning & Scheduling, Project Management, Mechanical & Electrical Systems, Structural Analysis & Design or Project Development.
  • Participate in development of undergraduate and graduate curriculum and instruction materials.
  • Participate in supervising and teaching laboratories if appropriate.
  • Develop online courses.
  • Develop and maintain an active research program that involves students and has the potential for external funding.
  • Perform appropriate service functions for the department, university and community.
  • Advise students.
  • Participate in professional meetings and establish key construction industry contacts.

 Minimum Qualifications:
  • Earned Doctorate from an accredited university (ABD considered degree must be completed by August 16, 2011).
  • One year teaching experience (two semesters as graduate teaching assistant will be considered) in a construction-related degree program.
  • Two years experience in the North American construction industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to carry out research.

 Other Considerations:
  • Preferred Doctorate in: Construction Management, Engineering, Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology, Business, Architecture or related degree field.
  • Proficiency in two or more: BIM, AutoCAD, Scheduling, Estimating or Project Management.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collegially with faculty, administrators and students.
  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse working and learning environment.
