Six (6) months of engine room experience as an apprentice operating engineer or higher level position involving the operation and maintenance of boilers, and refrigeration/air conditioning equipment. OR Graduation from a recognized technical/vocational school or community college with training in the operation and maintenance of both boilers, and refrigeration/air conditioning equipment. A current valid Louisiana driver's license* and an acceptable driving record are also required.
Preferred: Possession of a current Third Class (or higher) Steam Boilers and Air Conditioning License (issued by the City of New Orleans).
*NOTE: A valid driver's license issued by a state other than Louisiana is acceptable for application; however, once an employment offer is extended, an applicant has ten (10) days to obtain the required Louisiana license. Failure to obtain a Louisiana license will disqualify an applicant for permanent employment in this position.
