Kind of Work:

| Professional mental health work with juvenile offenders and their families under the jurisdiction of Juvenile Court. Employee performs mental health therapy to address substance abuse, emotional disturbances, disruptive behaviors, familial dysfunction, social skills, sexual abuse, and other needs associated with at-risk youth. Employee interviews juveniles, procures mental health information for assessment purposes, consults with other professionals on staff, provides individual and group therapy, develops and maintains case files, and performs related work as required. |

Minimum Qualifications For Admission to Examination:
|
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master's degree in a counseling related, human services discipline (e.g. counseling, psychology, social work, marriage and family counseling); one year post-Master's degree work experience providing counseling related services; and current certification as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (L.C.S.W.), Licensed Professional Counselor (L.P.C.), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (L.M.F.T.). Proof of education is required. Possession of a valid Louisiana driver’s license* and an acceptable driving record are also required. *NOTE: A valid driver's license issued by a state other than Louisiana is acceptable for application; however, once an employment offer is extended, an applicant has ten (10) days to obtain the required Louisiana license. Failure to obtain a Louisiana license will disqualify an applicant for permanent employment in this position. Any felony conviction is disqualifying unless written proof of pardon is submitted in time for consideration with the application. |

(ENTRANCE AND PROMOTIONAL) The examination will consist of a written test, a rating of training and experience, an oral interview or any combination thereof deemed necessary to adequately screen and rank applicants.
