ALL PERSONS INTERESTED Division/ Section: Finance Reporting Location: 16930 John F. Kennedy Blvd. (subject to change) Workdays & Hours: Varied, normally M-F (subject to change) Acts as "lead" in managing and coordinating development and implementation of goals, policies, and priorities relating to areas of financial management and accounting; participates in the preparation and review of various accounting reports and financial statements, making recommendations as necessary. Ensures all published financial data is accurate and in accordance with standards established by the Governmental Accounting Standards Board. Establishes financial internal controls and reporting procedures; processes complex financial transactions in large integrated financial systems. Provides technical and management support to automated accounting systems. Reconciles, reviews, and analyzes accounts and funds, using investigative and forensic accounting techniques. Manages, coordinates, evaluates and monitors personnel and work plans; assists in training efforts. WORKING CONDITIONS Performing these duties will involve the ability to: observe colors and differentiate details; attend to details amid distractions; analyze abstract information; speak and write effectively; adjust to critical and demanding work; lift up to twenty (20) pounds; adjust to interruptions and changes; work with minimum supervision; take charge when needed; and drive city vehicles. Must be willing and available to work all shifts when needed. Must be able to obtain and maintain security clearances. |

| MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: | |
| b>MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, Management Information Systems or a related field. MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Seven (7) years of accounting experience, at least three (3) of which must be related to supervising the development of financial systems, are required. MINIMUM LICENSE REQUIREMENTS Valid Class C Texas driver's license and compliance with city's policy on driving (AP 2-2). |

| PREFERENCES: | |
| CPA highly desirable. Big 4 accounting firm experience desirable. Candidate should possess: extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, and Word specifically, Access would be a plus); superior interpersonal skills, including strong written and verbal communication abilities; and advanced knowledge of financial accounting systems and financial statement reporting. Experience in governmental accounting and SAP accounting systems would be helpful but not required. | |
