Reporting Location: 4500 Will Clayton Parkway (subject to change)
Workdays & Hours: Shift work, including rotation, holidays and weekends (subject to change)
Performs journeyman level electrical work in the maintenance and installation of electrical equipment. Works on runway lighting and power distribution systems. Performs various electrically related work assignments according to sketches, layouts or blueprints. May perform various electrical tasks such as repairing wiring, electrical fixtures, a variety of electrical components, and computer based control equipment. This will involve diagnostic troubleshooting ability. Locates, evaluates and repairs electrical malfunctions. Drives vehicles to and from work sites and reports unsafe conditions and equipment.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Performing these duties will involve: lifting, pulling or pushing physical objects; extending physical energy for long periods; visually observing and differentiating details and colors; recognizing sound, tone and pitch; speaking and writing effectively; applying specialized information; working in hot, cold, and noisy environments; driving city vehicles; climbing ladders and stairs; walking and standing for extended periods; and dealing with people in tense situations. May be required to lift up to eighty (80) pounds. Must be willing and available to work all shifts including rotation, weekends and holidays. Must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance. |

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
|
MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
High School Degree or a GED certificate. Requires successful completion of an apprentice electrician program approved by the Texas Licensing and Regulatory Board.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
No Journey Level experience is required.
MINIMUM LICENSE REQUIREMENTS
Valid Class C, Texas driver’s license and compliance with city’s policy on driving (AP 2-2). State of Texas Journeyman Electrician’s License. |

PREFERENCES:
|
| Experience in high voltage (15 KV), primary distribution and emergency generators, and commercial/industrial experience including control systems, preventative maintenance programs, UPS and PLC. Ability to interpret blueprints, sketches, schematics, ladder logic diagrams, and design specifications. Knowledge of National Electrical Codes. Minimum of 5 years journeyman level experience preferred. |
