Job Title: LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT II (SR-24)
Salary: $4,276.00 Monthly
Job Type: Full-Time Permanent

Performs difficult professional landscaping work in the preparation, review and analysis of landscaping plans and specifications encompassing a variety of ground development, beautification and rehabilitation programs of major scope; coordinates landscaping activities with private and civic organizations; and performs other related duties as required.

 Minimum Qualification Requirements:
EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
Equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with major work in landscape architecture or a related field.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
Three years of non-registered professional landscape architectural experience.
Such experience must have demonstrated knowledge of planning principles and practices as applied to land utilization and development for recreational purposes; principles and practices of landscape architecture, topographic mapping, soil mechanics, soil erosion, horticulture, plant ecology, and plant, tree and shrubbery arrangements; the propagation, planting and general care of plants, flowers, shrubs, trees, and lawns; plant diseases and pests and methods of their eradication and control; basic principles and practices of engineering as applied in grading and filling of land areas and general architectural and building construction; procedures and practices used in the preparation of engineering and architectural plans, specifications, estimates, and reports; and ability to prepare landscaping plans and designs for the development of ground areas, parks and other recreational areas, and for erosion control purposes; prepare cost estimates for landscaping projects; direct construction of landscaping projects; arrange plants and shrubs in landscape to obtain the best effects; explain technical aspects of park projects to interested groups and individuals; coordinate activities involved in preparing designs, plans and specification for park development; prepare operational reports; and issue clear and concise oral and written instructions.

License Requirement:
Current State of Hawaii Professional Landscape Architect license. Applicants with an out-of-state Professional Landscape Architect license must obtain a State of Hawaii license prior to appointment.
