The Hawaii Employer-Union Health Benefits Trust Fund (EUTF) is seeking a Member Services Specialist who will assist the Member Services Branch Manager carry out the duties of the Branch, by researching, amending and/or developing branch policies and procedures; assist in developing and implementing training programs for the staff; researching and preparing reports, written correspondence such as letters, memos; performing enrollment and/or customer services related activities and duties as needed; conducting special studies, and/or participating in special projects.


To qualify, you must meet all of the following requirements:

Citizenship Requirements: Must be a citizen, permanent resident alien, or national of the United States. Non-citizens with unrestricted employment authorization from the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service may also apply.

Recommended Qualification Requirements:
A. Knowledge:

Knowledge in the use of personal computers and computer software such as email and word processing. Good knowledge of business English including reading, spelling, grammar, and composition.

B. Skills/Abilities:

Ability to operate equipment including personal computer, laser and other printers, facsimile and imaging equipment, Microsoft Office (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.); and optical character scanner; to maintain accuracy and attention to detail while processing large quantities of routine materials; to work independently with minimal supervision, read and comprehend technical manuals and apply their contents to hardware and software necessary to complete work projects. Good verbal and interpersonal skills to communicate internally with EUTF staff and externally with other departments, employer groups, beneficiaries and insurance carriers when necessary.

C. Education and Experience:

Associates degree in business or a related field and a minimum of three years of professional or technical experience that demonstrated the applicant's ability to perform the duties of the position. Preferred.

Substitutions allowed:

A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in business or a related field may be substituted for two (2) years of experience.

Work experience performed at a technical or professional level may be substitute for education on a year-for-year basis.

The overall experience must have been of such scope and level of responsibility as to conclusively demonstrate the ability to perform the duties of the position.


This position is exempt from the civil service. Therefore, if you are appointed to the position, your employment will be considered to be "at will," which means that you may be discharged from your employment at the prerogative of your department head or designee at any time.
