Job Title: Seasonal Facility Maintenance/Program Assistant

Responsible for maintaining facilities and grounds, setting up facilities for events, and providing customer service.

 Essential Duties:

 

·         Maintains facilities and grounds by sweeping and mopping floors, removing trash, vacuuming, and performing related custodial duties.

·         Sets up facilities and arranges rooms for classes, camps, or special events.

·         Assists customers and citizens with general questions and concerns regarding event location or facility problems.

·         Assists with program registration by answering phone calls, processing registration fees, completing rental contracts, and making deposits.

·         Maintains related facility equipment such as changing oil, stripping and waxing floors, changing light bulbs, and performing related maintenance.

·         Assists in overseeing work performed by inmates or volunteers.

·         Maintains related inventory of janitorial and maintenance supplies.

Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.

 Education/Experience, Licenses, Knowledge and Skills, Physical Requirements:
 

·         High School Diploma or GED equivalency.

·         Two years of facility and grounds maintenance and related recreation support experience.

·         Valid Georgia Driver’s License.

·         This job entails fiduciary responsibility and will require a credit check.
 

·         Basic recreation principles.

·         Maintenance principles.

·         Basic office principles.

·         Providing customer service.

·         Performing maintenance activities.

·         Cleaning facilities.

·     Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.

 Supplemental Information:
Positions in this class typically require:   reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, talking, hearing, and seeing. 

Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. 

Incumbents may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, electrical currents, fumes, odors, and chemicals.
