Records proceedings at meetings of various City boards, commissions, and agencies; prepares clear, concise accounts of proceedings for transcription; reviews draft transcripts for accuracy and clarity. Applications are kept in the OPEN file for four (4) months. IF YOU HAVE NOT BEEN CONTACTED, OR HIRED, AFTER 4 MONTHS AND WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE CONSIDERED FOR A POSITION, YOU WILL NEED TO RE-APPLY. Hours: Approximately 10-15 Hours / Week Variable / Monday-Friday, 7:30 am-11 pm; occasional weekend work Examples of Duties Performed - Duties may include but are not limited to the following:
Attends meetings of various City boards, commissions, and agencies recording proceedings both with a tape recorder and by hand.
Knowledge of: MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Experience and Training Previous experience as a Minutes Recorder; and/or any combination of course work, experience, and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Selection Process Applicants are screened based upon their relevant knowledge, abilities, skills, experience, and training. The selection process varies according to the position and can include such things as screening of supplemental questionnaires, written or skill tests, ability or fitness tests, interviews, and assessment processes. In addition, background investigations and records checks may be required. Some positions also require applicants to have a psychological evaluation and/or physical examination and a drug test prior to employment. Applicants selected to continue in the process will be notified within two-three weeks after the posting deadline.
