Job Title: Athletics/Activity Supervisor

Responsible for the overall supervision of City recreation athletic programs during program operating hours, general building and program supervision, and maintains ballfields for spring/summer leagues.

Hours:  Work hours vary by assignment

 Examples of Duties Performed - Duties may include but are not limited to the following:
Serves as liaison with community school coordinators and/or school facilitators at respective work sites.

Opens facility with sufficient time to accomplish pre-activity tasks.

Inspects facility for damaged equipment and/or unsafe playing conditions.

Sets up all equipment required for scheduled activities.

Sweeps gym floors before, and after, each scheduled activity.

Reports lost or damaged equipment to the athletic staff.

Closes and cleans facility following the last scheduled activity of the day.

Promptly reports names of problem participants and/or spectators to the Athletic Division.

Courteously assists participants and the public.

Notifies athletic staff of changes in school activities which conflict with City programs; participants of cancellations and/or changes in regularly scheduled activities.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

 Qualifications:
Knowledge of:
City athletic activities.

Emergency policy and procedures.

Some knowledge of softball/baseball helpful

Ability to:
Care for routine First Aid emergencies.

Work well with others.

Maintain order and safe conditions for all participants; identify hazards and implement solutions.

Interact positively with adults.

Perform assigned tasks effectively.

Keep accurate records and complete all required forms.

Adhere to scheduled work hours.

Work within the policies and guidelines set by the City.

Minimum Requirements
Any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the job.

License or Certificate
Current first aid and CPR certificates.

Must be able to pass a criminal background check.

Must be 18 years or older.

Selection Process
Applicants are screened based upon their relevant knowledge, abilities, skills, experience, and training. The selection process varies according to the position and can include such things as screening of supplemental questionnaires, written or skill tests, ability or fitness tests, interviews, and assessment processes. In addition, background investigations and records checks may be required. Some positions also require applicants to have a psychological evaluation and/or physical examination and a drug test prior to employment.
