Responsible for supervision of center activities: patron safety, operation of computerized registration system, public relations, reception and clerical duties, and minor maintenance of facility.

Hours: Varied / Includes weekdays and weekends

 Examples of Duties Performed - Duties may include but are not limited to the following:
Provides general security of building and safety of patrons during open hours; Ensures building is properly secured at end of shift.

Develops and maintains good public relations.

Assists class instructors in room set-up and clean-up.

Provides for the needs of patrons.

Performs clerical duties; answering phones, filing, and general reception.

Registers participants in center activities using computerized registration system.

Uses word processing and other computer software programs.

Compiles statistics and keeps accurate records.

Promotes community center programs.

Balances daily cash receipts.

Attends staff meetings and trainings, as requested.

Checks out and maintains equipment.

Responsible for discipline and maintaining order.

Responsible for minor maintenance duties: sweeping floors, emptying garbage, sanitizing bathrooms, cleaning kitchen, vacuuming, and keeping work area clean.

Supports and respects diversity in the workplace.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

 Qualifications:
Knowledge of:
WordPerfect and/or other similar computer programs in Windows.

Ability to:
Learn operation of automated registration system.

Communicate well, both orally and in writing.

Listen to patrons’ concerns and find solutions.

Work well with all ages and abilities.

Work within guidelines set by City policy.

Identify hazards and implement solutions.

Work in cooperation with community center staff.

Work well with minimal supervision.

Minimum Requirements
Any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the job.

License or Certificate
Current First Aid and CPR certificates.

MUST PASS A CRIMINAL RECORD CHECK.

In addition, background investigations and records checks may be required.
