Location: Various Locations within the City of El Paso, Texas
 

 
 
Candidate must have a High School diploma or GED, and two (2) years of experience in recreation, including one (1) year of supervision.

 General Purpose:
Under general supervision, plans, coordinates and implements a wide variety of recreational activities for participants in group settings; performs other supervisory and reporting related work as required.

 Typical Duties:
Implement and supervise social and recreational activities for group participation at multiple sites, to include, but not limited to, summer, special needs, after school and school playground programs, in accordance with El Paso Parks and Recreation Department’s mission. Involves: Ensure participant’s safety and well being at all times. Responsible for coordinating all necessary recreation supplies and equipment needed for programs. Assist in creation of curriculum. Implement established disciplinary policies and procedures to ensure a safe and positive environment. Complete all necessary reports.  Supervise other recreation staff and volunteers as assigned.
 
Provide assistance in the development and delivery of recreation activities. Involves: Oversee enrollment/attendance. Collect and account for fees received from participants and validate that all funds are properly handled according to the department’s cash handling policy. Ensure sites are operating in accordance with assigned schedules. Assist with staff orientation and training. Complete and process all required reports in an accurate and timely manner. Resolve participant/parent complaints.
