| Under immediate supervision performs work of routine difficulty in recreation programs; and performs related work as required. This is a seasonal position that runs concurrent with the school year. The average number of weekly hours is sixteen hours. |

| Examples Of Duties: | |
| Assist certified instructors and community agency representatives with class activities. Work with students in classroom setting or in small group activities. Facilitate behavioral interventions as needed or appropriate. Awareness of adherence to program rules and regulations. Communicate in a postive manner with staff, parents, students, and other public when needed. Ensure the safety of children at school site in and outside of building. Participate in staff meetings. Provide information to staff for outgoing communication to parents and building staff. Participate inprogram trainings. Other duties as assigned according to teh varying needs of students and staff. |

| Qualifications: | |
| Require current CPR and First Aide Certifications. Experience working with youth. Must pass police background check. |

| Knowledge and Skills: | |
| Ability to work with minimal supervision. Ability to work with a dvierse youth and adult population. Ability to motivate and encourage youth. Ability to communicate with youth in a positive, non-aggressive manner. Ability to react quickly and with sound judgment in emergency situaitons. |
