Under general supervision performs work of moderate difficulty in recreation programs; and performs related work as required. This is a seasonal position that runs concurrent with the school year. The average number of weekly hours is sixteen hours.
Examples Of Duties:
Oversee coordination of all activities during before/after school program. Work with staff, community partners, and partents to ensrue program sucess. Facilitate behavioral interventions as needed or appropriate. Assist certified instructors and community agency representatives with class activities. Work with students in classroom setting or in small group activities. Awareness of adherence to program rules and regulations. Communicate in a postiive manner with staff, parents, students, and other public when needed. Ensure the safety of children at school site in and outside of building. Participate in staff meetings. Provide information to staff for outgoing communication to parents and building staff. Participate in program trainings. Other duties as assigned according to teh varying needs of students and staff.
Qualifications:
BA in Education, Recreation, or related field or working toward a degree in these areas. Require current CPR and First Aide Certifications. Must pass police background check.
Knowledge and Skills:
Ability to work with minimal supervision. Ability to work with a dvierse youth and adult population. Ability to motivate and encourage youth. Ability to communicate with youth in a positive, non-aggressive manner. Ability to react quickly and with sound judgment in emergency situaitons.
