Contra Costa County Health Services Department is recruiting individuals on a continuous basis to fill journey level Occupational Therapist positions. Therapists may be assigned to the Contra Costa Regional Medical Center in Martinez, the George Miller Centers in Richmond and Concord or the California Children Services Programs located throughout the County.

Occupational Therapist II is a journey level classification. Employees in this class perform a full range of general therapy treatments with a greater degree of independence and proficiency, in addition to applying more specialized and advanced therapy treatments. Some individuals may assist in providing technical advice and training to less experienced staff.

 Minimum Qualifications:
License Required: Possession of a current License or limited Permit to practice as an Occupational Therapist issued by the California Board of Occupational Therapy.

Experience: Two (2) years of full time experience (or the equivalent of full time experience) performing licensed occupational therapy.

Other requirements: Prior to employment, a background investigation will be conducted. Fingerprints will be taken.

2. Examination: The examination for each class will consist of an evaluation of each candidate’s relevant education, training, and/or experience as presented on the application and the supplemental questionnaire. Candidates will receive a rating of 70% for meeting the minimum qualifications. Additional points will be awarded to those candidates who possess related education, training, and/or experience beyond the minimum qualifications. The names of successful candidates will be placed on an employment list in rank order for a period of six months. (Weighted 100%)

The Human Resources Department may make changes to the examination steps noted above in accordance with Personnel Management Regulations and accepted selection practices.
