| The Contra Costa County Health Services Department is accepting applications on an ongoing basis to fill entry level Clinical Laboratory Scientist positions which may be assigned to the Contra Costa Regional Medical Center in Martinez or health centers located in Richmond or Pittsburg.
Clinical Laboratory Scientist I is an entry-level classification. Employees in this clas perform bacteriological, hematological, biochemical, serological, coagulation and transfusion tests. They also perform blood counts and prepare stains, reagents, and stock solutions. |

| Minimum Qualifications: | |
| License Required: Possession of a valid license as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist issued by the California State Department of Health Services is required.
Experience: None required. Other Requirements: Prior to employment, a background investigation will be conducted. Fingerprints will be taken. |

2. Examination: The examination will consist of an evaluation of each candidate's relevant education, training and/or experience as presented on the application and supplemental questionnaire. Candidates will receive a rating of 70 for meeting the minimum qualifications. Additional points will be awarded to those candidates who possess related education, training, and/or experience beyond the minimum qualifications. The names of successful candidates will be placed on an employment list in rank order for a period of six (6) months. (Weighted 100%) The Human Resources Department may make changes to the examination steps noted above in accordance with Personnel Managemnt Regulations and accepted selection practices.
