Under supervision performs social or health service work of routine difficulty in providing breastfeeding education and support services to eligible clients. |

• Provides breastfeeding education and support to eligible clients which may include contacting clients over the phone and/or in person; • assist clients with questions and concerns regarding breastfeeding • maintain records and reports; Essential functions of the position include: sitting for trainings, phone calls, and meetings; working with and around others over the phone and for individual and group meetings; hearing and speech for ordinary conversation. |

| Minimum Qualifications: | |
| Any combination of education, training which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, including personal experience breastfeeding, and must be a current or former participant in the Women, Infants, and children (WIC) program.
The ideal candidate is an individual with personal experience in breastfeeding and have the ability to provide breastfeeding education and support to eligible clients within Colorado City and Fredonia Communities. This position requires strong communications and listening skills assisting clients with questions and concerns regarding breastfeeding over the phone and/or in person. Must be independent and be available outside usual working hours. Preferences: Bilingual in Spanish, Navajo and/or Hopi. Strong computer skills. This position is non-exempt from overtime. Note: This position is grant funded through a Breastfeeding Peer Counseling Program grant. This position is 10 hours per week and may become 15 hours per week in the future, pending board approval. |
