Central Lakes College is accepting applications for the following temporary part-time vacancies to teach Fall Semester 08/18/2010 – 12/21/2010 at our Brainerd and Staples Campuses:
 
A.D. Nursing Instructor: Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree with a major in nursing, nursing administration, nursing education, public health nursing or a nursing clinical specialty; two full-time years of verified related paid work experience as an R.N. at the professional level, and current Mn RN license. Preferred skilled experience in OB.
 

Practical Nursing Instructor: Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in nursing, two full-time years of verified related paid work experience as an R.N. at the professional level, and current Mn RN license. MA in nursing preferred.
 

Nursing Assistant Instructor: Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in nursing, two full-time years of verified related paid work experience as an R.N. at the professional level, and current Mn RN license.   Must have at least 2 years of direct long term care experience. 

Business Management Instructor: (Brainerd campus only)
Minimum Qualifications:  

Educational Substitutions:
·         Bachelor or above degree in management, business, office administration, economics, marketing or finance and 4000 hours of occupational experience or
·         Associate degree or two-year diploma (90 quarter credits) in business administration, management or supervision and 6000 hours of occupational experience or
·         One year diploma (45 quarter credits) in business, office management or supervision and 7000 hours of occupational experience or
·         Courses for credit or clock hours (1 quarter credit/20 hours, 1 semester credit/30 hours) in business, management, administration or supervision and occupational experience of 8000 hours.

Occupational Experience Requirement: 8000 hours of occupational experience as an office manager or assistant; business owner, operator or manager; retail manager or assistant, and all with supervision of ten or more persons.

Recency Requirement: One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years.

Chemistry Instructor(Brainerd campus only)   Minimum Qualifications:   Master's degree with a major in chemistry or a Master's degree with a minimum of 16 graduate semester credits (24 graduate quarter credits) in chemistry.  

Computer Technology Instructor: (Brainerd campus only)
Minimum Qualifications: 
Educational Substitutions:
  • Bachelor or above degree in computer science, MIS, data processing or telecommunications and 4000 hours of occupational experience or
  • Associate degree or two-year diploma (90 quarter credits) in computer science, operation, or programming; business micro computing; or advanced business communication and 6000 hours of occupational experience or
  • One year diploma (45 quarter credits) in computer operations, programming, or business micro computing and 7000 hours of occupational experience or
  • Courses for credit or clock hours (1 quarter credit/20 hours, 1 semester credit/30 hours) in micro computer or mainframe computers and occupational experience totaling 8000 hours.

Occupational Experience Requirement: 8000 hours of occupational experience in business application in two of the following: installation and troubleshooting computers, computer trainer in a business or industrial setting or programming.
Recency Requirement: One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years.
Preferred Qualifications:   Hold one or more of the following Information Technology industry certifications: MCSE, MCITP – Enterprise Server Admin, MCT-Network Technologies, CCIE, CCNP or another higher level network administration/engineering certification.
 

Economics Instructor(Brainerd campus only)   Minimum Qualifications:   Master's degree with a major in economics or a Master's degree with a minimum of 16 graduate semester credits (24 graduate quarter credits) in economics.
 

German Instructor: (Brainerd campus only)  Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree with a major in German, or master's degree in any discipline/field with a minimum of 16 graduate semester credits (24 graduate quarter credits) in German.
 

Media Production Instructor (for our Videography Program/Staples Campus only): 
 
Minimum Qualifications:

Educational Substitutions
·         Bachelor or above degree in appropriate major and 4000 hours of occupational experience or
·         Associate degree or two year diploma (90 quarter credits) in appropriate field and 6000 hours of occupational experience or
·         One year diploma in appropriate field and 7000 hours of occupational experience or
·         Courses for credit or clock hours (1 quarter credit/20 hours or 1 semester credit/30 hours) with an appropriate title or prefix and occupational hours totaling 8000.

Occupational Experience Requirement: 8000 hours of occupational experience with at least 1/3 of experience in commercial art, remainder in other forms of media production

Recency Requirement: One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years.
 

 
Occupational Skills Instructor:   (Brainerd Campus only)
Minimum Qualifications: 
 
Education Requirement:
·         Bachelor degree or above in education, social work, psychology, counseling, mental health, vocational rehabilitation, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech pathology or vocational evaluation and
·         20 quarter credits or 240 clock hours in vocational coordination techniques, introduction to the exception learner, assessment of the special learner and curriculum modification for the special learner.

Occupational Experience Requirement: 4000 hours outside of teaching with 200 hours in direct responsibility for the handicapped or disabled. (The 200 hours may include teaching in courses or programs designed to help the handicapped or disabled.)

Recency Requirement: One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years.
 
 

Philosophy Instructor: (Brainerd campus only) Minimum Qualifications:    Master's degree with a major in philosophy or  Master's degree in any discipline/field with a minimum of 16 graduate semester credits (24 graduate quarter credits) in philosophy.
 
 

Reading Instructor: (Brainerd campus only) Minimum Qualifications:    Master's degree with a major in secondary or adult reading, or master's degree with 24 graduate quarter/16 semester credits in reading including elementary reading, which would apply to the major and a minimum of 6 graduate quarter/4 semester credits in adult education.
