The written test consists of 80 questions. All answers are found in the study manual. Upon passing the written test with at least 65%, you will be notified by mail or e-mail at a later date to take the physical ability and fitness test. The next step consists of an administrative panel interview. Further processing will be conducted on candidates who pass these steps and are approved by Fire Administration. Further processing consists of a comprehensive background investigation and polygraph exam. Fire Administration and the Fire Chief make final hiring selections. The written test is valid for three years and the physical ability/fitness test is valid for one year. If either of these tests expires, it is your responsibility to request a retest to keep your application active.
