Hiring salary range $19.00 - $32.00 hourly. Hours will vary - 3 to 20 hours per week. The Recreation Instructor will teach a variety of classes in our recreation centers, responsible for planning, instructing and supervising a specialized class or program. The Recreation Instructor is responsible for planning, instructing and supervising a specialized class or program. Examples of instruction may include, but are not limited to; music, arts and crafts, sports, outdoor recreation, dance, cuisine, educational workshops, gardening, computers, wellness, fitness, aerobics, personal enhancement, preschool, etc. Instruction may target infants through adults.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
Instructor will plan, initiate, organize, and instruct a class in a specialized recreation area. Explain and demonstrate activity techniques to class participants. Prepare instructional materials and supplies. Be responsible for keeping accurate records, time sheets, and attendance. Responsible for room set-up and clean-up. Must be able to demonstrate positive customer service skills when communicating with participants, parents and staff.
Education, Experience and Skills:
Education: Graduation from high school or GED equivalency is required. Experience: Minimum requirements include any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job. Skills: Must be able to demonstrate positive customer service skills when communicating with participants, parents and staff. Must have a valid driver's license.
