| Responsible for helping to set up, break down and run events primarily for people with disabilities. Must be able to lift and set up a six foot table, should be outgoing with both children and adults, prompt and organized. Events may be inside or outside. | |
| Essential Duties and Responsibilities: | |
| Actively lead participants in recreation and leisure activities. Set-up and break-down equipment; report equipment problems to supervisor. Maintain clean work and play areas. Serve snack/meals to participants Carries out job duties in a safe manner in accordance with all Town, department and regulatory policies; follows safety procedures. Identifies unsafe situations and work hazards, corrects them if possible and reports them to their supervisor. Administer first aid and properly document each incident. Work cooperatively with other co-sponsor agencies. Records behavior patterns of program programs during each class or session. Maintains enthusiasm and tact in all contact with the public, program participants, and other employees. May record class participation at beginning of each session. May open/close facilities. Other related duties as assigned. KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED BY THE POSITION: Skill in working with groups of program participants, with or without disabilities. Skill in dealing with the public. Skills in tactful oral and written communication. Knowledge of First-Aid procedures. |

| Minimum Qualifications: | |
| Must be sixteen (16) years of age. Ability to read, write and perform mathematical calculations at a level commonly associated with the completion of high school or equivalent. A minimum of six months of work experience. May require possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver’s license issued by the State of North Carolina for the type of vehicle or equipment operated; and a satisfactory driving record for the past seven years. |
