| The tennis instructor/professional is responsible for teaching and instructing tennis lessons to children and adults. The tennis instructor/professional is responsible for performing the essential functions as outlined in the description. Tennis instructors/professionals are part-time employees. The pay range for this position is from Minimum Wage to $15.00 per hour. |

•The ability to effectively communicate with the public and staff.
•Current CPR and first aid certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days of hiring.
•Experience in teaching all levels of tennis. |

Typical Qualifications:
|
Supervision
Tennis instructor/professionals report directly to the Head Tennis Professional.
Essential Functions
•Keep daily tennis-lesson attendance records.
•Teach lessons to children and adults.
•In order to maintain a high level of service, tennis instructor/professionals are encouraged to continue to develop themselves professionally. Training sessions and staff meetings are thus mandatory and are an important part of the job. Tennis instructor/professionals are required to attend all meetings and will be compensated at the hourly rate.
•Check all equipment and supplies and report any repairs or replacement needs to the head professional.
•Maintain open and frequent communication with the head professional.
•Enforce Champaign Park District policies and procedures.
•Maintain a professional appearance at all times.
•Promote programs and lessons.
•Other assigned duties.
Marginal Functions
•Responsible for assisting other tennis staff as needed.
Psychological Considerations
•Tennis instructor/professionals must be able to respond to problem situations in a professional and mature manner within the policies and procedures of the Champaign Park District. Tennis instructor/professionals may also have to work under stressful situations when first aid or CPR are required.
Physiological Considerations
•Must be able to maintain rigorous lesson schedules during peak seasons.
Environmental Considerations
•Must be able work in hot and sunny conditions when lessons are scheduled on outside courts. |
