Job Title: Assistant/Associate Professor of Computer Science
Salary: Negotiable
Job Type: Full-Time Probationary
Location: Bemidji, Minnesota
 

 
 
  • Teach computer science courses at the undergraduate level, including introductory courses for computer science majors,
  • Teach a variety of advanced courses for computer science majors,
  • Teach courses for non-majors. 
  • Normal teaching load for a semester is three or four courses totaling twelve credit hours. 
  • Contribute to a program of scholarship within the discipline, student advising, service to the University community, and other associated faculty duties.
  • Contribute to interdisciplinary teaching and distance learning delivery.
  • Involvement in activities that support Bemidji State University's signature themes: Environmental stewardship, Civic engagement, Global/Multicultural Understanding.

 

 Qualifications:
  • Doctorate in computer science, computer science education, or a closely related field with computer science experience equivalent to the master's level is required by August 17, 2010.
  • Commitment to quality teaching to students from across campus is expected of all qualified applicants.
  • Preference will be given to applicants who have an established record of teaching excellence and to those with experience using paired-programming and other collaborative pedagogies.
  • Preference will be given to applicants with a willingness and ability to teach in one or more of the following areas: software engineering, compilers, and graphics.
  • Knowledge of and interest in diverse cultures and populations.

   This is a probationary (tenure-track) position.
