Job Title: Watershed Plant Operator Supervisor (Wastewater)

Salary: $44,318.00 - $64,703.00 Annually

This employee supervises the daily operations of water/wastewater plants, pumping stations, etc. and the activities of watershed plant operators.

 Examples Of Essential Duties:
Duties include, but are not limited to: training, assigning, and evaluating the work of several levels of operators. Also includes preparing and maintaining reports, logs, and records; planning and scheduling designated plant processes, such as, calibration of plant equipment, water shutdown/start-up, filter cleaning, maintenance; calculating process control variables and adjusts process settings as required; inspecting plant daily to ensure permit compliance; communicating with employees to ensure proper plant operation; managing the inventory of plant supplies, chemicals, and equipment; preparing weekly, monthly, and special reports and other departmental correspondence; scheduling and conducting training of employees in work methods; monitoring operating costs and recommending adjustments as necessary, etc.

 Typical Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED and five (5) years experience as a water or wastewater plant operator. Equivalent combinations of training and experience will be determined under prescribed guidelines.

 Supplemental Information:
Applicants must have a valid State of Georgia Class I Wastewater Treatment Operator License.

Applicants must have a valid driver’s license at the time of application. A valid Georgia driver’s license is required at the time of appointment. Certificate and license must remain valid during tenure in this classification.
*There is a salary differential for shift work.
