The purpose of this job is to assist the Deputy Commissioner in charting the strategic direction of the Office of Wastewater Treament and Collection; assisting in directing, managing, and otherwise overseeing the operations of this office. |
|

| The City of Atlanta is rebuilding its utility infrastructure and restructuring its utilities while simultaneously transforming its business and operational systems. The ideal candidate should possess the experience and vision to accelerate the ongoing improvements; identify additional opportunities; and manage institutional change. The Watershed Management Department is committed to customer service, performance management and continuous improvement and is seeking a dynamic individual with the will and drive to contribute to the transformation of the Office into one of the nation’s finest wastewater utilities. This position supervises all functional support areas for a wastewater treatment and collection system, including Administrative Support, Finance, Laboratory and Inventory control; consults and advises all levels of management and staff regarding the development of policies and procedures; prepares City Council legislation; and confers with citizens, civic organizations, and others as necessary to provide information or respond to concerns. |

Typical Qualifications:

| The City of Atlanta is looking for a candidate who holds a bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field; and has five to seven years of of progressively responsible management experience, with three years of supervisory experience in a public or private utility. | | | |
