| The Arlington County Department of Human Services Behavioral Healthcare Division seeks a community-oriented psychiatrist to work within an innovative and recovery focused psychosocial day program (Clarendon House). The psychiatrist will work closely with the psychosocial team to develop and implement intensive, interdisciplinary, recovery-focused treatment. The position entails the following work expectations: • Diagnostic psychiatric evaluations; • Ongoing psychiatric management, including psychopharmacologic treatment, appropriate forms of psychotherapeutic support, and, as needed, off-site crisis intervention in collaboration with the psychosocial team; • Assuring comprehensive healthcare needs are identified and treated and the people served are educated about their illness and given health management information and techniques; • Team consultation and clinical supervision, and participation in interdisciplinary treatment planning meetings; • Documentation of clinical care in the electronic clinical record; • Psychiatric care of indigent people admitted to the inpatient unit of the Virginia Hospital Center; and • Backup physician coverage as needed to Division outpatient services. The Psychiatrist, as part of the Behavioral Healthcare Division, will be able to participate in and support innovative Division initiatives. The Division has a recovery and best-practice oriented mission, and the Psychiatrist will have the opportunity to be a part of projects which are at the forefront of mental health service delivery. |

| Must be licensed (or licensable) to practice medicine in the State of Virginia and be eligible to take examination of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, and must have a Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) license. | |

| Work Hours: Monday through Friday, 20 hours per week between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm with flexible scheduling if preapproved. | |
